300,000 Greeks and Greek immigrants have protested in Athens against the fascist political party ‘Golden Dawn’.
Golden Dawn had seen their popularity rise at the last election in part due to Greece’s severe economic woes but it hasn’t taken long for the Greek public to realise that fascism with it’s racist attitudes is not the Greek way. The failings of this ideology of pitting people against people was highlighted when Pakistani immigrant Shehzad Luqman was stabbed to death by two right-wing men in Athens.
