US; Catholic church to pay $10m to child abuse victims

Religion binThe Catholic church in LA in the US is to pay $10m to settle 4 cases of sexual abuse by a priest which cardinal Mahony knew about and ignored.

The settlement means that the Catholic church officially accepts no responsibility or guilt. They have bought their ‘innocence’.

Court documents have shown that cardinal Mahony has protected numerous priests accused of sexual abuse over the years.

Attorney John Manly said:

“The person who could have stopped this in its tracks and prevented three out of four of these children from being sexually assaulted is now sitting in Rome voting for the next vicar of Christ,”

Between 1950 to 2007 over $2bn has been paid out to abuse victims by the Catholic church and as of 2012 over $3bn. This has led to several US diocese going bankrupt.

In 2004 it was calculated that 4,392 priests and deacons against whom allegations of sexual abuse had been made in the US alone.

Every continent has had sexual abuse on children carried out by the Catholic church, this must be stopped, Catholicism must be stopped, Christianity must be stopped, religion must be stopped.

Tunisia; Chokri Belaid shot dead

Tunisian flagChokri Belaid, the leader of the Unified Democratic Nationalist party has been shot dead outside his home by ‘radical’ Muslims.

Chokri Belaid was an outspoken critic of Islamic extremism and political violence following the countries revolution two years ago.

This is just part of the long history of religions and religious people attacking others and imposing their views and opinions on others.

Religion

Religions (all of them) and religious people are intolerant and negative to society.
Whether it’s Islam killing people because they disagree with them and have opinions of their own or Christianity telling people what they can and can’t do in cases such as abortion and gay marriage.

Atheists, agnostics and secularists do not kill people because they think differently, they are tolerant of other people’s views, opinions and lifestyles.

Secular countries do not force religious people to have an abortion or to marry someone of the same sex but allow the choice to be made by the individual.

Muslims threaten civilian safety again

By Leon J Williams

An Islamic group has threatened the French after their operations in Mali and Somalia against Islamic militants in those countries.

France is assisting the government of Mali against the Muslims who are threatening and terrorising civilian life. France was also involved in a failed rescue attempt of a French citizen in Somalia, the man was being held hostage by more Islamic militants.

The UK government will now assist France and Mali in combating these extremists.

Muslims are also holding French hostages in in Niger, Nigeria and Mali.

The French government has stepped up security fearing more attacks on France.

Back in March last year Mohamed Merah killed 7 people in Toulouse, France, 3 soldiers and 4 Jewish people at a school.

Why is it that Muslims behave this way so often when other religious groups rarely (if ever) do?

Is it due to Islam being 600 years younger than Christianity and thus Muslims are behaving like Christians did 600 years ago?
Or is it because Islam only exists in culturally/socially primitive countries, (no Islamic countries in Western Europe, North America or Australasia) developing and under-developed countries?

Archbishop calls gay marriage plans a shambles

By Leon J Williams

The Roman Catholic Church’s leader in England and Wales (Vincent Nichols) says government plans for gay marriage are a “shambles”.

In his Christmas Eve sermon he said that marriage between men and women shares in “the creative love of God”.

So it seems as we bring in the new year that the Christians (as with all the other religions) will continue their hatred and persecution of homosexuality through inequality.

Our verdict of Vincent: Arsehole (no pun intended)
